Bible Study

Matthew 6:33

But seek ye first the kingdom of GOD, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

The most essential thing that every church and every child of GOD should be doing, is having Bible Study.  Either in a group setting but definitely on an individual level if there is no other setting offered.  To be able to seek GOD'S righteousness as His children, we must know the word of GOD and live by it.  Only in the word of GOD can we come to know GOD and have a real relationship with the GODHEAD.  This is why we must study the word of GOD.   We must diligently seek what the word of GOD is saying and requiring of us.  Many today do not think that studying the word of GOD is that important anymore.  Children of GOD have made worldly things more of a priority than the things of GOD.  Saints have become lazy and rely on the Pastor to do all the work.  It's ok with the devil because he understand, in the word of GOD is our power and without it we are weak.  It is the power that brings about the new creature and fortify our faith in Jesus Christ.

Leadership in the House of GOD is failing the children of GOD.  It has become weak and have lost sight of the importance of mandating to the individual, bible study is required feeding.  There is no requirement of commitment nor dedication to learning how to walk before GOD, how to fight the devil and live a righteous,  holy life.  Paul told Timothy in ( 1 Timothy 4:13, 15-16); Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.  Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.  Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.  (2 Timothy 2:15); Study to show yourself approved unto GOD,  a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Paul is relaying to Timothy the importance of him embracing the word.  Giving himself wholly to it.  Giving his all to learning GOD'S word.  And in the learning process, to meditate on the things that he is reading.  Knowing in meditation, (the process of focusing on a particular thing in your mind in detail for clarity and understanding), the word of GOD will soak into his mind, heart and soul.   Paul knew in the word of GOD there is life and understanding.  Life not just for Timothy but for those he would encounter and share the learned good news of Jesus Christ.  It was required of Timothy to study the word as a workman.  Meaning, he had to put the time in, as the opening verse states, Seek ye first the kingdom of GOD.  

Another area of studying is training.  In the military you are trained.  You read, study, perform and repeat over and over again.  The importance of this is that the training soak in and become second nature so to speak.  When the times come for action, you will know without thought, what and how to do your job.  As with our children, for us to train them, so is it with us.  GOD'S children are to be trained.  Proverbs 22:6; Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.  How many times have you been in a discussion about spiritual things and didn't know what to say?  Or in a spiritual event of service and didn't know what to do?  The Spirit of GOD can only bring things back to our remembrance if we have studied.  If nothing in, then nothing out.  In studying we can rightly divide the word of truth if, we have diligently sought after GOD for understanding and His truth.  

We are without excuses when it comes to us spending time in studying the bible.  As important as your job is, studying the bible or bible study more so.  It's not about making time to study.  If that is what you are doing, then you are stealing from GOD.  Remember, you are brought with a price.  You don't belong to you but GOD.  So making time is the wrong answer.  The truth, you must ask GOD for time to do all the other things.  GOD and the things of Him must be first.  He, our Father, can not and will not be second in our lives. Again, Seek ye first.

Bible Study is the time to learn the basic things of GOD.  It closes doors to a lot of questions by giving answers to a lot of things wondered.  It sets us on a course of disciplining ourselves on how to study and putting the time in.  Studying gets you ready to share the good news of Christ when you are lead or asked.  We should approach studies excited, with the expectations that our Father by His Spirit is about to reveal something to us.  We should approach it prepared, ready to share but more open to receiving.  Redeem the time wisely.  A workman not to be ashame.
