Knowing Who You Are

In this lesson topic we will deal with, Knowing who you are.  The problem with todays' Saints/Children of GOD, falls into one main area after becoming Born Again; they don't really know who they are.  In their minds they are caught between two worlds of sinnerman and saint. They don't understand the change that has happened to them nor the power that is given them to become Children.  Who is a sheep, wheat, child or heir?  Are you still flesh or spirit?  The world can't tell you. The answer is only found in the Word of GOD by His Spirit    

Almost always when someone becomes Born Again, New Convert, the church/leadership is quick to welcome them into the fold and are happy a body has been added to it's roll to pay tithes and offering. They encourage the New Convert to come to bible study, attend church services and other functions without setting a course of studies that will enlighten them in the importance of being Born Again, feeding your soul, brotherhood and unity. This type of leadership fail to teach them about this new life that they now have, and the importance of what it means to be a Child of GOD.  Sadly and too often this is happening in churches everywhere.  Leadership failing to realize nor care that this babe in Christ need to be taught who they are and what has happened to them.  The church go about indoctrinating them in traditional juke, while dancing and prancing and ignoring the need of the converted soul.  They are left to themselves and the attacks of the devil.  The need is to teach the Convert concerning the transistion and transformation they have just gone through as a new born babe in Christ Jesus.  The need is to nurture them step by step in the understanding that they are new and their old life is dead and gone. The pivotal scripture for this and for their understaning of the change is, 2 Corinthians 5:16-17;  Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.  Thereforth if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

What these scriptures are telling us is, once a person has become Born Again, at that very moment, they are new through and through. All deliverance that need to happen is done.  All pass sins are gone, cast in the sea of forgetfulness and you are forgiven of all.  The old you have died with Christ in the watery grave of baptism, (Romans 6), and the new you have immeraged. The church must be deligent, delibrate and urgent about filling the new bottle (Convert), with new wine (the Word), (Luke 5:37-38).  Once the soul is cleansed it must be filled with righteousness or else the individual could go back into a worse state than before. (Matthew 12:43-45).  We must now teach them to study, 2 Timothy 2:15, to show themselves approved unto GOD and to diligently search the scriptures for themselves to learn what the Word of GOD wants and requires of them.  We are to teach them how essential bible study is and establishing a relationship with GOD and the GODHEAD. Or else they to will fall into the categories of the sower of the seed that fail to bring forth fruit. 

The Word of GOD is the secret door to enlightenment/understanding and growth in knowing who you are in GOD.  It is the door to knowing your Father GOD and Jesus Christ our Lord.  How can you begin to know who you are if you don't know who GOD is and what He has called you to be or what He has done for you through Jesus Christ. Only in the Word of GOD will you know who He say you are and whom you have become.  Though the enemy will try all he know to try to prevent you from embracing your true self, (1 Peter 5:8),  remember first, your are Chosen of GOD.  You have the power. Submit yourself unto GOD.  Resist the devil and he will flee from you.  With proper care of those having charge over you, guidance by and obedience to the Holy Spirit, the New Convert desire for the sincere milk of the Word, the spirit man, who you are will emerge.
